How to Fix Orange Peel: A 3-Step Guide to the Perfect Mirror Finish
Effortlessly Eliminate Dust Nibs and Orange Peel: Achieve a Flawless Mirror Finish via Professional Polishing
Step 1: Sanding to Eliminate Orange Peel
Start by using 3-inch sandpaper (P1000–P2000) with the ALOMAX 3" Random Orbital Sander. Focus on the orange peel or contaminated areas to level the surface texture and remove unevenness.
Step 2: High-Efficiency Compounding for Smoothness
Apply S20 One Step Liquid Compound - Swirl Free/Cut & Finish to the paint. Use the ALOMAX 6-01 Wool Buffing Pad with a polisher to buff the surface. This step effectively removes sanding marks and restores a smooth, uniform finish.
Step 3: De-waxing Inspection for Final Verification
Spray a Wax Remover (IPA/Degreaser) onto the surface and wipe it clean with a microfiber towel. Carefully inspect the de-waxed paint for any lingering holograms or micro-scratches to ensure a true, permanent mirror finish.
